Objectives: The Architectural Potentials of Storage

Harvard Design Magazine No. 43

“As objects evolve into representations of knowledge and order - through the private and into the public - a collection becomes an archive. If activated through specific details, namely open display and regular engagement in the interactive laboratory of home, the contents of storage have the power to engage in the production of cultural meaning. Storage, as evidenced by these examples, contain the potential to jump from the private domestic sphere to that of the civic collective realm.”
